ایچ آئی وی سے حفاظت کی دوسری ویکسین کی آزمائش بھی ناکام

موذی مرض ایڈز کا سبب بننے والے وائرس ایچ آئی وی کو روکنے یا اس سے حفاظت کے لیے بنائی گئی امریکی دوا ساز کمپنی ’جانسن ایںڈ جانسن‘ کی ویکسین کی آزمائش بھی ناکام ہوگئی۔

اس سے قبل فروری 2020 میں امریکی حکومت کی۔ جانب سے مختلف طبی اور دوا ساز اداروں کے اشتراک سے۔ بنائی گئی ویکسین کی آزمائش بھی ناکام ہوگئی تھی۔

ایچ آئی وی سے حفاظت کے لیے۔ بنائی گئی مسلسل دوسری۔ ویکسین کی آزمائش بھی ناکام ہونے۔ پر ماہرین نے شدید اضطراب کا شکار ہیں۔ اور جانسن اینڈ جانسن کی ویکسین کی مزید آزمائش کو روک دیا گیا۔

خبر رساں ادارے ’رائٹرز‘ کے مطابق جانسن اینڈ جانسن کی ویکسین کی آزمائش 2019 میں شروع کی گئی تھی اور مذکورہ آزمائش کا مرحلہ اہم ترین تھا مگر اس کے نتائج اچھے نہیں نکلے۔

ایچ آئی وی سے بچاؤ کے لیے جانسن اینڈ جانسن ۔کی جانب سے دوسری کمپنی کے اشتراک سے بنائی گئی ویکسین کو دنیا کے متعدد ممالک کے 50 مختلف۔ علاقوں کے رضاکاروں پر آزمایا گیا۔

مذکورہ ویکسین کو برازیل، میکسیکو، ارجٹینا، اٹلی، پیرو، پولینڈ، پیورٹو ریکو، اسپین اور امریکا کے 50 مختلف علاقوں میں رہنے والے 3900 افراد پر آزمایا گیا۔

جن افراد پر ویکسین کی آزمائش کی گئی تھی، اس میں خواجہ سرا، ٹرانس جینڈرز اور ہم جنس پرست افراد بھی شامل تھے۔

ماہرين پر عزم

ماہرین کو امید تھی کہ ویکسین تیسرے اور اہم ترین آزمائشی مرحلے میں خاطر خواہ نتائج دے گی، تاہم ایسا نہیں ہوسکا اور ویکسین ایچ آئی وی وائرس کو بڑھنے سے روکنے میں ناکام رہی۔

جانسن اینڈ جانسن نے بھی اپنی ۔ویب سائٹ پر جاری بیان میں تصدیق کی کہ ویکسین۔ ایچ آئی وی کے وائرس کو بڑھنے سے روکنے میں ناکام رہی۔ اور اس سے متاثرہ افراد کے مدافعتی نظام کو تقویت نہیں ملی۔ جس وجہ سے ویکسین کی مزید آزمائش روک دی گئی۔

بیان میں بتایا گیا کہ آزمائش کے دوران تمام رضاکاروں کو ہر تین ماہ بعد اور ایک سال میں 4 ویکسینز لگائی گئیں مگر ان کا نتیجہ تمام ہی 50 علاقوں پر منفی نکلا، جس وجہ سے اس کی آزمائش روک دی گئی۔

کمپنی نے ایچ آئی وی کو روکنے یا اس سے حفاظت کی ویکسین کی آزمائش ناکام ہونے پر اظہار افسوس کرتے ہوئے وائرس کا شکار ہونے والے افراد سے ہمدردی کا اظہار کیا۔ اور اس امید کا اظہار کیا کہ مستقبل میں۔ مریضوں کے لیے ویکسین تیار ہوگی۔

مذکورہ ویکسین کی ناکامی کے بعد ایچ آئی وی سے حفاظت کے لیے تیار کی گئی۔ مسلسل دوسری ویکسین کی آزمائش ناکام ہوئی ہے۔

تاہم اس وقت بھی مختلف ملٹی نیشنل دوا ساز کمپنیوں کی کم سے کم تین ایچ آئی وی ویکسینز کی آزمائش جاری ہے، جن کے حوالے سے ماہرین پر امید ہیں کہ ان کے نتائج حوصلہ کن آئیں گے۔

اس وقت ایچ آئی وی کے مریضوں کا علاج مختلف ادویات کے ذریعے کیا جا رہا ہے۔ تاہم ان کی حفاظت کے لیے کسی طرح کی کوئی ویکسین دستیاب نہیں۔

خیال رہے کہ ایچ آئی وی وائرس کی پہچان 1980 کے بعد ہوئی تھی۔ اس وائرس سے متاثرہ افراد ایڈز کا شکار بن جاتے ہیں۔

اس وائرس یا مرض سے بچاؤ کے لیے اب تک کوئی بھی ویکسین دستیاب نہیں ہے۔ تاہم امریکی سائنسدانوں نے دنیا کے دیگر ممالک کے ماہرین کے اشتراک سے 1997 میں ویکسین تیار کرلی تھی۔

1997 میں تیار کی جانے والی ویکسین پر مزید کئی سال تحقیق کرنے کے بعد سائسندانوں نے اسے مکمل تیار کرنے کا دعویٰ کیا تھا اور 2016 میں اس کی آزمائش شروع کی گئی تھی۔ مگر اس کی آزمائش بھی ناکام گئی تھی۔

جانسن اینڈ جانسن نے بھی چند سال قبل ہی ویکسین بنالی تھی اور اس نے 2019 سے ویکسین کی آزمائش شروع کی لیکن بدقسمتی سے ان کی ویکسین کی آزمائش بھی ناکام ہوگئی۔
