نامور اداکار اور ڈراما نگار شعیب ہاشمی طویل علالت کے بعد آج سہہ پہر کو 84 سال کی عمر میں انتقال کر گئے۔
اداکار کے انتقال کی خبر سرکاری نیوز چینل ’پی ٹی وی‘. نے اپنے ٹوئٹر اکاؤنٹ کے ذریعے دی. شعیب ہاشمی معاشیات کے پروفیسر بھی رہ چکے ہیں. وہ آرٹسٹ اور ماہر تعلیم سلیمہ ہاشمی کے شوہر تھے۔
پی ٹی وی کے مطابق انہوں نے گورنمنٹ کالج لاہور سے معاشیات میں ماسٹرز کیا. لندن اسکول آف اکنامکس سے ایم ایس سی کیا اور لندن کی رائل اکیڈمی آف ڈرامیٹک آرٹس. سے تھیٹر کی تعلیم حاصل کی۔
2012 میں شائع ہونے والی شعیب ہاشمی کی ڈان پروفائل کے مطابق انہیں 1990 کی دہائی سے قبل ٹی وی پروڈکشنز اکڑ بکڑ، سچ گپ، ٹال مٹول اور بلیلا کے علاوہ دی نیوز اور گلف نیوز کے لیے لکھے گئے. کالم کے لیے یاد کیا جاتا ہے۔
شعیب ہاشمی نے تھیٹر کے لیے بھی لکھا. اور چند کتابوں کا ترجمہ بھی کیا۔

اردو میں ڈراما نگاروں اور ڈراموں کی اشاعت کی کمی کی وجہ سے انہوں نے مقامی تھیٹرز کے لیے انگریزی ڈراموں کے کئی ترجمے کیے۔
شعیب ہاشمی نے 1970 کی دہائی میں پی ٹی وی کے لیے. ابتدائی طنزیہ پروگرام کے لیے اسکرپٹ بھی لکھا. انہوں نے آخری بار 1979 میں ٹی وی سیریل ’بلیلا‘ میں کام کیا تھا. جس پر ضیا آمریت نے پابندی لگا دی تھی۔
