اسلام آباد، پشاور، دیر بالا، ملاکنڈ سمیت کئی دیگر شہروں میں 5.3 شدت کے زلزلے کے جھٹکے محسوس کیے گئے، جس سے لوگوں میں خوف و ہراس پھیل گیا۔
محکمہ موسمیات پاکستان کی طرف سے جاری کردہ سرکاری اعلامیے کے مطابق، 21 اکتوبر 2025ء کو رات گیارہ بج کر پندرہ منٹ پر ملک کے شمالی اور شمال مغربی علاقوں میں۔ 5.3 شدت کا زلزلہ ریکارڈ کیا گیا۔ زلزلے کی گہرائی 234 کلومیٹر زیرِ زمین تھی، جبکہ اس کا مرکز افغانستان کے ہندوکش پہاڑی سلسلے میں واقع تھا۔
یہ زلزلہ پاکستان کے متعدد شہروں اور قصبوں میں شدید طور پر محسوس کیا گیا، جن میں اسلام آباد، راولپنڈی، پشاور، چترال، سوات، دیر بالا، دیر پایین، ملاکنڈ، باجوڑ، بونیر، شانگلہ اور گرد و نواح کے علاقے شامل ہیں۔ زلزلے کے جھٹکوں کی شدت ایسی تھی۔ کہ لوگ گھروں، دفتروں اور دکانوں سے کلمہ طیبہ پڑھتے ہوئے فوراً باہر نکل آئے۔
جانی یا مالی نقصان
ڈان نیوز کی رپورٹ کے مطابق، زلزلے کے فوری بعد سڑکوں اور کھلے میدانوں میں لوگوں کا ہجوم دیکھا گیا، جہاں وہ خوفزدہ حالت میں ایک دوسرے سے حال احوال پوچھتے رہے۔ خواتین، بچوں اور بزرگ افراد کو خاص طور پر گھروں سے نکال کر محفوظ مقامات پر پہنچایا گیا۔ تاہم، ابتدائی اطلاعات کے مطابق اس زلزلے سے کسی قسم کا جانی یا مالی نقصان نہیں ہوا۔
واضح رہے کہ صرف چار دن قبل، یعنی 17 اکتوبر 2025ء کو شام پانچ بج کر پندرہ منٹ پر بھی ایک 5.6 شدت کا زلزلہ آیا تھا، جس کا مرکز بھی افغانستان کا ہندوکش علاقہ تھا۔ اور گہرائی 120 کلومیٹر ریکارڈ کی گئی تھی۔ اس زلزلے کے جھٹکے بھی اسلام آباد، راولپنڈی، پشاور، سوات، چترال، دیر، ملاکنڈ اور ملحقہ علاقوں میں محسوس کیے گئے تھے، جس سے عوام میں شدید خوف و ہراس پھیل گیا تھا۔ لوگوں نے گھروں سے باہر نکل کر کھلے مقامات پر پناہ لی تھی۔

محکمہ موسمیات نے دونوں زلزلوں کی تفصیلات کی تصدیق کرتے ہوئے۔ بتایا کہ ہندوکش ریجن ٹیکٹونک پلیٹس کی سرگرمی کا ایک فعال علاقہ ہے، جہاں وقتاً فوقتاً زلزلے آتے رہتے ہیں۔ تاہم، دونوں واقعات میں گہرائی زیادہ ہونے کی وجہ سے سطحی نقصان کا امکان کم رہا۔
